Why We Came Home Early… (A Personal Update)

Hi, Cleanish Squad!

This isn’t the video I thought I’d be making.

When we set off on this journey five and a half months ago, we had a vision—a year of travel, exploration, and freedom on the road. We had it all planned out: homeschooling the kids, selling our house, and discovering where we wanted to live next. But life had other plans.

In this week’s video, I’m sharing why we made the difficult decision to cut our trip short and come home—a decision that, for a long time, we didn’t want to admit we needed to make.

Inside this video, I open up about:

✔️ How we knew it was time to quit (and why quitting isn’t always a bad thing)

✔️ The biggest challenges we faced on the road (spoiler: frozen pipes, broken heat, and tough decisions)

✔️ What I’ve learned about forcing a plan that no longer fits

It took me a while to accept that just because we set a goal doesn’t mean we have to force it to work. That goes for life, health, business—everything.

If you’ve ever struggled with knowing when to push through and when to pivot, I think this video will resonate with you.

Thank you for being part of this journey. I’d love to hear your thoughts—have you ever had to make a hard decision to step away from something that wasn’t working? Reply and let me know, or drop a comment on the video.

Here’s to failing forward,

P.S. Next week’s video is all about getting back into routines—make sure you’re subscribed so you don’t miss it!

This time of year, I crave light, fresh meals—things that feel effortless but still packed with flavor. So, I pulled together some of my favorite A Sweet Pea Chef recipes that are perfect for...

Hi, Cleanish Squad! Want to hear this instead? Click to listen! Over the years—both in my own weight loss journey and coaching clients—I’ve seen a lot of different approaches to losing fat. Some work, some don’t, and some are just downright exhausting. Let’s be honest—losing weight isn’t the hard part. Keeping it off is. No matter what method someone follows, success always comes back to three non-negotiables. These things make fat loss sustainable rather than another cycle of losing and...
