A lesson on inflammation and life.

Hello, hello! And happy Monday! 

Today, we’re going to cover the sexy topic of Inflammation. Okay, maybe not so sexy lol.

This past week, I’ve noticed quite an uptick in views on my Inflammation YouTube Playlist so I’m going to take a stab and assume this topic might interest you, too.

Nowadays, the concept of inflammation is a huge part of my own daily life, despite never having understood it before my mid-30s. As a kid, I remember my mom complaining that her face would get “puffy” after eating too much salt, but that’s about the extent to which it was ever discussed.

In fact, I didn’t really understand why her face would get puffy (yes, it got visibly puffy!) until I became an adult and had lost weight. Before then, I guess I just felt uncomfortable, and didn’t know why or that it wasn’t normal.

It was similar to putting on glasses for the first time and being able to see better. Losing about 50 lbs (at the time) allowed me an opportunity to finally feel better, feel free of inflammation, and I didn’t want to go back.

Maybe you’ve had a similar experience?

The craziest thing about Inflammation, I’ve found, is that you can control so much of it through your diet - for better or worse.

Case in point:

There are also simple lifestyle changes that can quickly reduce inflammation naturally, including:

  • walk more

  • reduce stress

  • get enough sleep

  • reduce alcohol

  • drink water

And I discuss all these, in detail, in this video.
